Our annual community Open House on April 20th was a huge success! At least 85 of our neighbours popped in to try their hand at bowling and croquet. We offered two full tables of fabulous baked goods with tea/coffee and free hot dogs out on the grill. The weather remained great until 10 minutes to closing (which prompted a very speedy clean up).
City Councillor David Thompson dropped by to throw a few bowls on behalf of the Mayor. President Crisp put him through his paces. He seemed very impressed with the event and expressed ongoing support for our organization.
On behalf of the Board I’d like to thank all those members who pitched in to promote the day, baked goodies, tidied the site, set up rinks/courts/patio/bbq and then hung around to demonstrate our sports and serve refreshments. I counted at least 30 of you.
We had 5 new members sign up on the spot. Many more took membership forms home. A good dozen signed up for free lessons.
