Like all sports, lawn bowling relies on new players entering the sport each year. While the nature of the game is attractive to older people, it is important to reach out to the younger generations and dispel the myth that it is strictly an “old” persons game. The truth is, Lawn Bowling is a young person’s game that older people can play!
Since 2014, our club has been offering high school students the opportunity to learn the sport of lawn bowling and croquet. Class visits to our green are arranged as part of a regularly scheduled physical education session, providing students with an activity they would normally not get to experience. Club members volunteer to provide hands on instruction and also join in the games with the kids.
