On September 7th, we fielded fourteen squads in our 13th annual Celebration Of Life tournament. It was a huge success raising over $1700 towards cancer research. Our club sponsors, Victoria Harbour by Chartwell, provided some yummy salads and an ice cream wagon to complement the bbq lunch plus they organized a wheel of bling to help raise even more money. They also provided complimentary lunches for two as prizes. Many thanks to members Tim and Marcia P for doing a fantastic job managing the grill and food tables. We were also bolstered with six players from the Juan de Fuca club.
The tournament winners were James C, Marion R and Brent B. Bob from JDF won the Spider competition to start things off. James C and Kevin B won the Longest Jack event and Lee M took the prize for Short Jack. Deanna F was deemed to have the most colourful outfit but Mike’s hair came a close second.
